Mobile App for Android

Features

  • Plays well with all DurUntash Lab products

  • Displays real-time sensor readings, and sensor metadata (serial number, firmware version, etc)

  • Logs geo-tagged sensor readings manually or automatically on smartphone (mobile-based data logging)

  • Collects and saves data from multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices

  • Can be used to give unique alphanumeric name to DurUntash Bluetooth-enabled sensor nodes (e.g. ISHTAR 1P-BLE)

  • Can program and operate DurUntash Bluetooth-enabled irrigation controllers (e.g. SUMERIT 2P-BLE)

  • Sends new settings and sensor calibration coefficients to DurUntash Bluetooth-enabled devices

SHUSHAN Mobile

SHUSHAN Mobile is an Android-based mobile app specifically designed  to work with our Bluetooth devices such as the ISHTAR 1P-BLE and SUMERIT 2P-BLE nodes. The SHUSHAN Mobile app can be used for easy configuration, sensor calibration, data retrieval, and mobile-based data logging. The SHUSHAN Mobile can collect sensor readings from multiple Bluetooth devices and log geo-tagged timestamped data  manually or automatically (mobile-based data logging) on smartphone. The app is provided free of charge with all compatible DUL products.

Mobile-based Data Logging

The SHUSHAN Mobile works together with our Bluetooth devices (e.g. ISHTAR 1P-BLE) and DurUntash Lab sensors to take real-time sensor measurements. The mobile  app  also displays device and sensor metadata such as serial number, firmware version, etc. You can use the app to turn your smartphone into a datalogger and log data at specified time intervals. Sensor readings will be stored on your phone in a 'csv' file along with GPS coordinates and timestamp. You can also manually choose and save specific sensor readings on your phone with the click of a button.

Calibrate Sensors

If your sensors need soil-specific calibrations, look no more! By default, our data loggers and sensor adapters automatically apply calibration coefficients and temperature compensation factors to sensor readings. As an option, the SHUSHAN Mobile can be used to apply extra layers of calibration and compensation to measurements in real-time. Just use the the SHUSHAN Mobile to upload new settings and calibration coefficients into your Bluetooth device. Both our APAS T1 soil moisture and HITA E0 EC/TDS sensors are supported.

Collect and Save Sensor Data from Multiple Bluetooth Nodes

You can use the SHUSHAN Mobile app to collect data from multiple Bluetooth sensor nodes (connect to one node at a time) and save them on your smartphone. These nodes might be permanently installed in different spots in your field, orchard, greenhouse or grow operation. The app automatically saves sensor readings (geo-tagged and timestamped) under their unique name.

Dry/Wet Thresholds for Irrigation Scheduling

The mobile app allows for setting dry and wet thresholds, which can be used with APAS T1 soil moisture sensors. These threshold lines are helpful when you are conducting an irrigation experiments and it is important to maintain soil water content within specific limits.

Applications

Soil moisture, electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature are recognized as important variables that influence plant productivity in both agricultural and natural ecosystems. Continuous monitoring of soil/substrate moisture and EC are very important in different areas of science and engineering such as hydrology, soil science, geotechnical, ecology, meteorology, agronomy and controlled environment agriculture. Accurate soil moisture measurements are necessary tools in precision irrigation and water management. Substrate temperature is also a useful parameter in monitoring crop growth and can also be used for correcting moisture measurements. Soil moisture measurements can be used by farmers and researchers to determine water deficit and to specify the amount of water needed by plants. Monitoring EC is an efficient way to ensure that you ate within the proper range and therefore not burning your plants by over-applying nutrients.
